Drag and Drop 1-way only between linux host/guest, WS6

I am running WS6 on ubuntu 7.04 and have a guest which is also another ubuntu 7.04 instance.

Both running with the default kernel, window manager and gnome desktops.

Guest is running the vmware tools.

Drag and drop of files from the host (a nautilus window, or the desktop) to the guest (desktop) works beautifully.

Unfortunately I cannot drag and drop a file from the guest back to the host.

An error dialog pops up with the message:

"Cannot get attributes of file on virtual machine.

Aborting the drag and drop operation."

any workarounds ?

Yeah, I can confirm this issue.

I'm running Ubuntu in a VM in Fusion on Mac OS X, and I have exactly the same problem as Edoardos.

Drag in works fine, drag out... the "Cannot get attributes of file on virtual machine.

Aborting the drag and drop operation." error appears

Upgraded vmware to 6.0.1, upgraded tools in VM, host OS is now RHEL 5 ... but the issue remains the same.

I cannot drag files out of the linux VM on the linux host. It's truly inconvenient
