Do the current Workstation-installers still have the /clean switch ?

Since a few weeks I am trying to clean up a Windows 10 host that has been crippled by a failed VMware Workstation setup.

Can anybody tell me if the current VMware-workstation-full-16.1.0-17198959.exe still has the /clean switch ?
The KB related to uninstalling Workstation https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/1308 is outdated and needs to be updated.

The VMware_Install_Cleaner does not help either.
Trying

VMware-workstation-full-16.1.0-17198959.exe /clean

launches the regular installer and so it appears to be an unacceptable risk to make it even worse.

Ulli,

If you are not in a hurry for the answer, I will test this over the weekend.  I'm planning to re-install VMware as a test for some other issue.

Ulli,

Just tried it myself.. and as you say, looks like it is just the normal installer that gets started.

Suppose you also tested the remove option already? FWIW, when I just did that, it looks like it cleans up fairly well. Can't find much left over parts.

Nowadays the installer is pretty much a wrapper around an msi installer.

I guess the VMware employee @haiweiz  answering down there might know more and if the /cleanup option did more than what the remove option in the uninstall does.
