Disk type SCSI vs SATA for Windows 7 pros/cons, F6 driver.

Hello,

when I create a VM for Windows 7 in VMware Workstation (16.2.5) using the wizard, the recommended disk type is SCSI, which means that an F6 driver is required during installation so that the disc can be found.
Is the current driver still "vmscsi-1.2.0.4.flp" from this KB or is there a more recent one?

What are the disadvantages of just selecting "SATA" instead?
According to this KB, regarding SSD detection, it seems even be better?

Thanks and greetings,
Martin

I'm pretty certain that floppy image is the driver for the BusLogic SCSI card, not the newer LSILogic SCSI card.  For Win7, with the LSILogic card, you shouldn't need to install a driver during setup - it should be built into the Windows installer disc.
