As student I can use the VMware Workstation 14 for free (but it looks so not the v15).
When I try to install ubuntu 18.04 desktop the disk time of my windows 10 host machine goes to 100% immediately the Ubuntu installation wizard start. When I fast enough I can only select the keyboard layout and than the VM hangs.
The Process VMware Workstation VMX consume all of the disk time.
I tried to change the disk settings that the vm does an instant full allocation.
Other OS also the ubuntu 18.04 server edition install and work without problems.
Hi,
Didn't face this issue at my end, what are the Host details? Also just for isolation, make sure no other VMs are running at the time of installation.
Win10 Home with all updates Acer Swift 3 SF315-52.
No other VMs are running.
I run in this problem also with the Ubuntu live option (test ubuntu) to try it only.
Hi
This is unusual for sure, do you have option to download a new .iso file for ubuntu?
You mentioned that server OS runs fine.
I downloaded the iso again with another i.net.
The same again.
I get desperate I need this kind of ubunto
Currently, the issue seems to be linked to this particular Ubuntu iso.
Which .iso are you downloading? i386 or amd64?
I would recommend amd64.
