Determine disk type inside Workstation

I see several posts about determining disk type inside vCenter and several post on converting disk from Thick to Thin and visa versa, but is there a way inside Workstation Pro to determine the disk type without loading it into vCenter or converting it?

When creating a new VM and you select the Custom (advanced) setup in the wizard ...

you are given the option to "Allocate all disk space now."   Is this the Thick\Thin provision option?  Would checking this option indicate Thick provisioning of the new VM and unchecking this box indicate Thin provisioning?t

I can see in the Hard Drive settings area after the VM is created it states if the diskspace IS or IS NOT preallocated.  If it IS preallocated...does this confirm THICK provisioning and if it IS NOT preallocated does this confirm THIN provisioning?

Although it may look similar, there's a huge difference in virtual disk allocation between ESXi, and Workstation, Player, etc.

Workstation doesn't use thick, and thin, but uses fully allocated, and sparse (growing files) disks.

Thin provisioning in ESXi is a VMFS file system feature.
