DPI awareness is not supported.

DPI awareness is not supported on following VM:

OS: W10 20H2

VMware Workstation 16.1.0 Pro

VMware drivers reinstalled.

Scaling is set to 125%, app supports Hi-DPI but DPI awareness status in Task Manager is still "DPI unaware".

What is going on?

i guess you have external displays whose DPI scaling is different from the main display?

i have a case open about 2 yrs i guess....

Mine shows Per-monitor (Version 2). Try right-clicking your VMWare Workstation shortcut, select Properties, go to Compatibility tab, and check if any DPI compatibility settings are set.

not sure how to interprete this... per monitor version 2??

anyway there isn't anything set in the shortcut in regards to DPI, both options are unchecked..

but if i drag my vm or start my vm on the display that has 200% scaling, the vm stays at 100%

if i disconnect my extra displays (who are at 100%) then all works as expected.

as soon as i have an external display which differs in scaling then the auto scale inside the vm stops working it seems...
