I have a Windows XP SP3 virtual machine running on a Windows 7 32bit host with 8 monitors. Everytime I reboot, I have to click the cycle multiple monitors button over a dozen times to get my preferred layout.
Is there a way to set a default so that I don't have to cycle through all the layouts on each restart? If not, is there a hot-key combination for the button so that I don't have to follow the top menu bar all over the place to continue to click the cycle multiple monitors button? I read several posts about the same issue, but have not seen a solution yet.
Here are my svga settings from the .VMX
svga.autodetect = "FALSE"
svga.maxWidth = "6400"
svga.maxHeight = "4800"
svga.vramSize = "134217728"
Thanks for any ideas.
Did you think long enough about this? Still not worth it as a feature? It's been 9 years.
Has there been any update on this? Pretty annoying to cycle monitors each time for each VM. I recently saw a colleague of mine using Virtual Box that boots dual monitors and it even keeps the monitor configuration when the host blanks screens and monitors return from standby (which also requires another re-cycle in the vmware world). I was floored that Virtual box was ahead of vmware on this front.
