Create VM out of Paragon V17 Backup Image (VMWare 17 Pro) Error: Restore point appears to be invalid

Description:

1. We create a Backup Image on a PC with Windows 10 with Paragon V17.

2. We generate a new virtual disk in VMWare Workstation 17 Pro (in the Settings, we choose Hardware compatibility VMWare Workstation 17.x.x)

3. We mount the virtual disk to Paragon and restore the Backup Image. -> Now Error Appears: "Restore point appears to be invalid"

Strangely enough we can restore the Backup Image, when choosing Hardware Compatibility VMWare Workstation 16.2.x, even though we are working with VMWare Workstation 17 Pro and not 16 anymore..

By "generate a new virtual disk" in step 2 below, I assume that you are creating a new virtual machine and setting it's compatibility to Workstation 16.x, then booting a recovery environment containing the Paragon software? Are my assumptions correct?

It sounds like Paragon doesn't like what it sees from the latest VMware virtual hardware configuration. Is it possible to contact Paragon to find out what exactly it doesn't like?
