Crash/Error caused by disconnected USB device

VMware Workstation unrecoverable error: (vcpu-0)
VERIFY bora\vmx\main\hostWin32.c:569

My VM instances keep crashing when I don't have a USB music/midi keyboard connected. When I connect it back it works fine

16.2.3 build-19376536 on Windows 10

Tried reinstalling Workstation Pro but no change
AMD frame rate target control not enabled

How do I re-install Workstation Pro as to not remember any previous settings like fresh install?

I would suggest do something less drastic first.

If you don't disconnect USB before shutting down the VM, the next the VM powers up, it will try to connect to the same USB device(s) again. So I suggest disconnect the USB music/MIDI keyboard from the VM before shutting down the VM. Perhaps that is the cause of this grief.

I guess that it only crashes when you use suspend and resume instead of power off completely.
So simply avoid the suspend button if you use your VM as a DAW.
Connect the USB2Midi device before you start the VM.

Thanks, but it also still crashes after powering off completely. The midi device is an 88 key keyboard I want to get rid of because it takes up a lot of space.

I was able to fix. On the host go to Device Manager and View Hidden, then uninstall all hidden USB controllers. Then do a fresh install of VMWare
