Could not initialize logging - VMware will not open

Not sure if I'm in the correct forum, but does anyone know what is the problem when VMware will not open. Latest version on Windows 10 - 21H1.

Ciao

What do you mean that "VMware will not open"?
Which is the VMware product with which you have a problem?
VMware Horizon? VMware Workstation? or VMware ESXi? or what else?
This is a community channel for posts on the Horizon problems.

Hello,

I've attached the message I receive once opening the app. It's VMware Workstation Pro. New install.

Have you tried to start VMware Workstation with "Run as Administrator"?

Yes - I have. I've downloaded multiple times over, on two different pc's. I'm wondering is it something I need to do before hand.

What is the version of OS host where you have the VMware workstation error?

Check if you are able to access this folder C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Temp\vmware-<user>\ and you check the log file in this folder for having an error message (There could probably be an error accessing a folder)

Expect a moderator to move your thread, now that I’ve reported it, Workstation Pro is not Horizon.

Windows 10 vs:21H1

I couldn't find the path after \user

I think the issue is since I'm using the trail version, trying to download onto a second pc is the issue.

Thanks for you're assistance.

You can see AppData folder if you will enable the option show "hidden items"
