Copied a VM from an enterprise server to VM workstation but networking error

Good day,

I copied a VM from our enterprise server to a VM workstation running on a local computer.

When booting up I am getting the following error:

Distributed Virtual Switch is not supported by this product.

Failed to connect virtual device 'Ethernet0'.

Is there anything I can do via WorkStation to resolve this?

You just have to add an available virtual network adapter to your virtual machine and remove the Distributed Virtual Switch from your configuration. That should be all you need to do.

Old thread, but current for me. I´m getting the same error. Within the workstation player gui, there´s no distributed switch shown at all. Adding a new network adapter is easy. But how can I delete the distributed switch?

I guess you'd have to amend the .vmx file to remove the reference to the old adapter/switch.
