Good Day,
VMnet0 did not appear even if i Restore Defaults.
Also I cannot bridge mode any VMnet.
Thanks,
- Mark
Did you use the admin/root account when you try to edit the settings ?
Show result of ipconfig / ifconfig please
Yes i am using admin privileged.
I tried to reinstall VMware again and still same error.
Please see image for reference
Thanks,
- Mark
Just to clarify, it's not about the user's admin permissions alone, you need to start the "Virtual Network Editor" by right clicking, and selecting "Run as Administrator".
André
Thanks for the clarification andre, I did what you said and it still the same result
Thanks
- Mark
open a cmd as admin and enter
net start vmnetbridge
report the message you get
Hi continuum,
Here is the result of vmnetbridge
Please check the host's physical network adapter properties, to see whether they contain the "VMware Bridge Protocol", and that it is enabled.
André
Hi Andre,
Are you talking about this "VMware Bridge Protocol"? What shoulld i install? can you help me please. Thank you.
Please don' get me wrong, I'm not trying to finger point, but users reported several issues with Avast in the past.
Can you please try to completely disable Avast, then start the Virtual Network Editor "as Administrator", and run "Restore Defaults"?
André
Hi andre,
Yes I suspect avast too. What i did what was uninstall both avast and vmware. reinstall vmware again, but still show the same result
Thanks,
- Mark
I have the same issue, did anyone figure it out so far?
Same issue after upgrading to 17.0.2. No VMNet0, even after "Restore Defaults". No way to bridge a network. None of the suggestions offered have worked.
Feels to me that's an intended consequence. My colleague did the update and got the same issue as well.
Great...well if I find a solution I'll post it here, but so far, no luck.
