Cannot change hardware settings after export from vmware workstation to vmware EXSi

Hi All,

I am building an image on vmware workstation 15. I am planning to move that image to vmware EXSi 6.7.
I export the image by clicking "file" then selecting "Export to OVF...", after that I add the .ova file extension, then click save and I get a file with .ova format.

Then I tried to import the image into vmware EXSi and it worked.
But I can't change the hardware settings on the image, for example, I try to add hard disk capacity and the image can't be run again.

Is the way I export the image wrong?
Is there anything I need to set before exporting?
Please give me suggestions to solve this problem.

What exactly happens after the modification? Any error messages? Any related entries in the VM's log file?
