Cannot access VM server from external network

I'm running a WinXP Pro virtual machine in Workstation 7.1.5 on a Win7 x64 host.

There is a server app running in the VM that needs to be pubically accessible. The VM is connected to VMnet8 (NAT), and the appropriate port is forwarded in the Virtual Network Editor. My router is an Apple Airport Extreme, and the VMware host is designated the "Default Host," which should (as I understand it) allow incoming connections on any port.

I temporarily switched the VM to a Bridged network connection and it worked in that configuration. However, I need it to be running on the NAT adapter if at all possible.

Is there a setting on the host machine that I've overlooked?

Sorry, guys. I'm an idiot.

I forgot to remove the port mapping from my Airport Extreme when I switched away from the Bridged connection, so it was trying to forward packets to an IP address that didn't exist anymore. Everything works as expected now.
