Cannot access Guests from host

Hi there!

I have a VMWare 10 Workstation setup:

Host: Windows 7

Guest: Windows Server 2008

From the host I cannot ping the guest, but the guest can ping the host.  I also cannot use SQL Server Management Studio on my host to connect to my guest.

This did work under VMWare 9.  Any idea what might have happened here?

It sounds like it is a guest firewall  issue except you said it worked on workstation 9. 

Is the Windows firewall enabled on the guest?

Hi Jeff,

I'm not seeing any firewalls on guest or host.  I set firewall services on host and guest to disabled.

Interesting... When I look at the routing table there is a refernece to Host only network (192.168.231.0) but not to the NAT network (192.168.131.0)

Guess I need some network support.

Fixed it, reset networking to defaults and the routing tables were updated (also had to reboot the guests.
