Hi,
Just tried to expand the size of a virtual hard drive sized from 175 GB to 275 GB and I have plenty of physical hard drive space to do that (> 1.2 TB). The virtual (guest) machine is the latest Windows 11 (version 22000.588) running on the latest Windows 10 Pro (Host machine). Both are 64-bit OS and registered. I am running VMware Workststion Pro v16.2.3 build 19376536.
I have been running the Windows 11 VM for sometime and it works great! However, I wanted to increase the virtual drive space of the Windows 11 Pro from 175 GB to 275 GB when I got the dialog telling me the "encryption failed" when I press the "expand" button when I am back in the Host system's environment (Windows 10).
Is this "encryption failed" dialog due to the TPM 2.0 I had to use to get Windows 11 to load? Is there some file in the Host's VMware directory I need to edit and/or delete to do this virtual drive expansion?
Chris
