Can we run containers on top of a Solaris 10 VM running on Vmware Workstation6.5/7

Hi All,

I am planning to learn Solaris container virtualization. however i haven't got any hardware at my disposal for the same.Can i run solaris 10 non global zones on a solaris 10 Virtual Machine running on Vmware Workstation installed on Windows Vista OS ?

I don't see any reason why not. VMware presents block level 'disks' to the operating system.

In fact, here is a virtual appliance that has containers.

I will give it a shot now. However the Virtual appliance link that you have given is not opening . Its leading to a blank page.
