I Can`t share encrypted virtual machine on VMware workstation 8 - option is grayed - is it possible at all?
I just tried it - here the option is not greyed out but then I get
I have linux vmware host - maybe it`s just differences in interface - that`s why my option is just grayed...
I have no unencrytped VMs at this time - so sharing is totally unusful feature for me.
Does anybody know if vmware team is going to implement encrypted machines sharing in future?
Any official comments are welcome.
Thank you.
VMware never comments on future features
but this one is really strange - I see no reason that speaks against using encrypted VMs as shared VMs ???

Isn't a shared VM a VM which autostarts when the HOST starts? And how do you want to apply the password then?
Not that this is not possible but the encrypted VM is failsafe to be opened and started by another person which has not the password/key.
However if I autostart it with the password somehow applied what's the meaning to encrypt it then?
Just asking because myself lacks knowledge here. No offense meant.
If only way shared vm works - is autostarting - then - yeah it have no sense. but Why I can`t start/connect a shared encrypted machine with passeword from remote VM client? can shared machine be started or stopped from remote client at all?
