Can't expand VM disk using workstation 8.04

Hi,

I've recently installed workstation 8.04 on my Vista 32 with no problems.

I then installed Win 7 ultimate in the in workstation again with no problems.

I now tried to expand the VM hard disk but got the error below:

There is not enough space on the file system for the selected operation.

There is 19GB free on the host (Vista) and I only expanded the VM hard disk by 5GB but I still get the same error.

The VM is in one file.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I assume the VM's virtual disk is a single .vmdk file (opposed to a 2 GB sparse disk). In this case resizing the virtual disk temporarily requires additional disk space, because the virtual disk's contents are copied to the new virtual disk file.

Hello Andre,

Thanks for you reply.

I'll increase the size of the host disk and try again.

Thanks Andre for your input.

I made more space on the host and I successfully expanded the VM.
