Can not install VMware-workstation-6.0.5-109488.i386.tar.gz in Ubuntu 8.10

I just upgrade my Ubuntu 8.04 to 8.10, the kernel version is 2.6.27-7.

I try to install the VMware workstation 6.0.5, but the installer can not build the vmmon module, does anyone ever have the same proble? and what is the solution?

You seem to be on an old build?

I am on build 6.5.0 build-118166 and it installs into intrepid with no problems....the only problem is that the vmware tools now are broke for intrepid guest.

Try downloading the latest build. It should have be a .bundle file or a .bundle file enclosed in a tar.gz file cant recall.

and install with sudo ./filenamehere.bundle
