Can we use the latest VMware Tools 9.9 that came with Workstation 11, in all ESXi virtual machine version (eg 5.5 and older)? Does having the latest VMware Tools always work? How backward compatible are VMware Tools?
We have an internal corporate environment where we manage various virtual infrastructures and next time we update our common image would like just one version of VMware Tools across the lot. Is this possible?
