Can I convert a Windows 7 VM in Workstation 11 to an image for a physical machine

Hi -

Is it possible to build a Windows 7 Enterprise VM in Workstation 11 and then sysprep it and convert it to an image for deployment on a physical machine?

I want to add the storage drivers that are missing on our existing image.

Or to do I convert the physical machine to a VM and then add the storage drivers for RAID 1 and convert it back.

What is the best way to fix this short of  having to rebuild the image on the physical machine?

Thanks.

You can use MDT / SCCM to capture the Windows 7 image from Workstation 11.

Use the captured .wim file to create an new install Task Sequence in MDT / SCCM, add the required storage drivers and uninstall VMwareTools.

But personally I would always start with a clean image.

Arno -

We are using a Windows Deployment Server for our imaging.

The images are built with vm's and I believe the drivers are added depending on the machine type.

Are you just suggesting use the existing WDS image and adding a task to insert the drivers for the RAID controller?

Thanks.
