Can I access apache server on guest through host computer?

I am using VMWARE workstation 6.5.1. Can I type in my ip address and then access guest server? Or do I need VMWARE server?

Thanks in advanced

Hi

Yes you can access your guest VM via its host as long as you have configured your IP setup on both so that there is a path/route for communication.

The easiest setup is for them to be on the same subnet.

YES! You can! (Actually very popular)

The virtual guest behaves just like any other host on the network, provided you spend a virtual network card (vNIC) to the guest. You have the option to make it a member of your ophysical network by using a bridged vNIC or to use the "host-only" network (VMnet1) if you want to keep it private or if you do not have a physical network or a link all the time.
