I've had this problem before but can't remember how to get around it.
I have Ubuntu 6.10 host, VMware WS 5.5.3 Build 34685.
When I try to create a WinXP guest I get output in the WinXP window that
says:
CLIENT MAC ADDR: xx xx xx xx xx xx GUID: bla bla bla
PXE-E51: No DHCP or ProxyDHCP offers were received.
PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel PXE ROM.
Operating System not found
I'm not sure this is the problem but why would it even worry about DHCP at this point?
Any ideas?? I'm brain dead!!
You haven't changed the boot-sequence to a CD from where you want to install the XP
Yes, that was one problem, but I also found that it was trying /dev/scd1 instead of /dev/scd0....
Changed the setting in VMware - VM -> Settings -> CD-ROM
Looks much better now........
