I keep getting the above message when trying to run Mac OS X 10.8 through VMware Workstation.
I am using a amd fx-4100 quad core @ 4.00ghz processor.
Any help appreciated.

MAC OS is not only unsupported on VMware Workstation, but you would also violate Apples EULA by installing it on non-Apple branded hardware and therefore such issues may not be discussed in this forum.
