Bridged network not working anymore after vmware update

Hi,

after I updated the workstation this morning to 17.0.1 build-21139696 bridged networking in my xubuntu-clients is not working anymore. 

I tried several things described here 

but nothing changed. Only NAT works properly. The machine tries to get a connection but cancels after a few minutes.

If you look through forums posts in the last 1-2 weeks, you'll find a lot with the same problem.  It seems to be an issue with 17.0.1, so downgrade to 17.0.0 or use the workaround until there's an update (probably in another 1-2 months, unknown).
