Bridged Network - no Internet

Hi,

I'm running Workstation 7.0.1 on Windows 7 Pro 32bit. When I use the Bridged Network connection I can see the whole of my network but I'm unable to connect to the Internet. NAT works fine.

I have searched and tried all solutions I have found.

Bridge protocol is installed and enabled

Checksum offset is disabled on the nic

Tried both DHCP and static IP settings.

Does any one else have any other ideas?

Thanks

Just first ideas: In case your network uses static IPs, enter the DNS in the LAN connection of your VM.

If you are behind a router with MAC control, add the MAC address of your VM to the list of allowed MACs.

Hi,

I have tried manually entering DNS etc on the VM but it still wouldn't work.

MAC filtering is not enabled on the router.

I can however successfully ping the internet IP addresses, resolve them using nslookup, but cannot browse to them.

Thanks

What OS are you running on the guest? Are the VMware tools fully installed on the guest? Have you tried checking the box, under Bridged, to "Replicate physical network connection state" yet?

Also, do you have other (physical) systems on your network that connect without issue? Is the system with WS7 using a LAN or wireless adapter to connect?

Is the default gateway correct?

Are there MAC address restrictions (or other rules) set on the Internet connection device?
