Bridge networking pinging only one way

Hi,

I am using VMware Workstation 5.5. I just installed a new Windows XP Pro virtual machine using bridged networking. The problem is that I can ping from VM to the gateway or any machine on the network (in a lab). But am unable to do the opposite - pinging from host machine to VM. I am using the WiFi network in my lab.

What could be the problem?

May be windows XP SP2 firewall.

Have you disabled the XP firewall in the guest?

Do you have any firewall software installed on the host?

Thanks, switching off Windows firewall on virtual machine worked.
