Booting RedHat from VMDK file

Can I boot RHEL 9 already installed on VMDK disk? When I am trying to boot already installed RedHat instance VMware puts me in to virtual BIOS I cannot boot to os on VMDK

Did you only get the .vmdk file, or also other files like the .vmx and/or the nvram file?

What I could think of, is that some boot option may need to be adjusted, e.g. BIOS vs. UEFI, ...
