Black Screen when Starting VM that Was Moved to Windows 7 Host

VMware Workstation 7.1.3 build-324285 working great on my old XP box.  Work gave me a windows 7 system. Installed VMware Workstation, copied VM files to Win 7.  VM's start but just have a black screen no display.

Creating a new VM on Windows 7 host works for a day or two, the starts with the black screen.  Don't think I'm the only one with this problem but I couldn't find and specific solutions.  Any help  or ideas would be great.

What I've done so far:

Ensured that all VMware services are running.

Scanned log.  Host ACPI: can't find SRAT, and Host: SRAT tables not found in memory

Don't know if SRAT is the issue or not.

Standing by . . .

you dont want to hear them ...

upgrade your host OS to Windows XP or 2003.

In my experience WS runs way better on XP or 2003 than on Windows 7

Continuum,

Apparently, VMware Workstation will only run on Windows 7 as Administrator.  I have not completed my tests, but so far as long as Wmware Workstation is started with 'Run As Administrator' it works as it did for me on XP.

Any other words of wisdom using VMware Workstation on Windows 7?

Cheers,

So far, that's certainly the case with me.  Regrettably our IT Dept. won't support older OSes.
