Between Wired and WiFi NIC on the Host - Guest Machine behaves differently

I am using VMWare Workstation 15 Pro and have some Windows Virtual machines with Bridged NIC. Bridged NIC receives proper IP address from the Router*.

The Guest Windows with Bridged NIC works fine and is able to browse the Internet and Intranet as long as the Host machine (Dell precision Windows 10) is using WiFi.

If the host machine uses Wired Connection to the router the Guest Windows (with bridged NIC) can no longer browse Internet or Intranet. The Guest machine can ping Internet and Intranet sites / devices.

* I have tried routers from three companies Netgear, Asus and now D-Link, the problem is exactly the same irrespective of the Router model or make.

Go into the virtual network editor, and disable "automatic bridging".  Set a specific host NIC to bridge to VMnet0, and then set the other host NIC(s) to use one (or more) of the other unused VMnets (2-7, 9).  In your VM configuration, set the network connection to 'custom' and select the desired VMnet.
