BSOD on W10 Startup after Converting Physical Machine

Hey guys,

Trying to convert a dying laptop with W10 to a virtual machine so that the software can outlive it's aging hardware.  However, when I ran the VMWare converter tool, the resulting virtual file gives me a blue screen of death every time it launches. On the Recovery screen that shows afterwards, I'm told the computer couldn't start properly because "A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed. Error Code 0xc0000225".

Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong here? Preliminary research showed that perhaps my drive was an IDE when it should have been a SCSI, but that is not the case. It is currently a SCSI, as are the rest of the virtuals that I run, so it doesn't appear to be a driver issue.  I have seen very little else pertaining to this error code that has been helpful, so it would be great if anyone out there has seen this error.

If there is any other information you are curious about, please ask.

Thanks,

Colton
