BIOS entry not working

On my Lenovo Thinkpad I need to hit F1 to enter BIOS.  Under startup F1 is the help key for VMware. I think this have influence on not being able to enter BIOS.  I have turned off fast startup and consider slowing down cpu.

Am I missing something obvious?

Thanks for any help.

Am on VMware Workstation 16 Player.

What solved it was hitting esc key and entering boot menu. From here enter Advanced and typed c - which got me into grub>

From here the reboot command speeded every try up very much and somehow now the F2 key worked from this reboot.

Thanks for fast reply.

I have had this issue previously and used the following to assist me.

From the vsphere client, click the VM name, and click the Edit Settings option. Click the Options tab, and then select Boot Options and choose the option to force entry into the BIOS setup screen. The next time you power on the VM, it will enter the BIOS setup screen
