BIOS ERROR after VMware installation

I have a AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core 3.01GHZ

2 GB Of RAM

and I'm using Windows XP PRO

I'm facing this problem for the first time

I formated the PC 3 times also still no result

I install VMWare Workstation 6.0.0-45731, and the installation is successful

and then when it asks me for a reboot

just after Windows XP is booting ,

I get a blue screen , i cant read what it says because it just comes for a second

and my computer restarts

It doesn't even log in with Safe Mode,

All i could read was BIOS

Please people Help me out with this mind boggling issue

Thank-u

is this a VM or your workstation that is having the problem?

do you have windows xp SP3 installed? because there is a known Microsoft bug with SP3 and AMD Cpu's

try uninstalling sp3 and then try VMware workstation.

if that works install the AMD patch. reinstall sp3.
