Autostart and autoshutdown guest when Host-reboot

I am now using Vmware sevrer under 2008 R2 server. I soon need to migrate to workstation since Server is EOL. How do I make it autostart and autoshutdown guests when host starts, shutdown, reboot. I need to have this working without the need to logon.

I'm not aware of a way within Workstation to do this.

However, you could use VMRUN commands within a batch file to start and stop and VMs.

You mean by using startup / shutdown scripts. Thats the answer I got before. Not really happy with it. Must be some other solution like turn into service or a third party app.

From my understanding, Workstation was not designed with that functionality in mind.

Did quite a few Google searches on this topic and always come back to VMRUN.
