I use VMware in my test environment, when i move host from one VLAN to another i need to manually perform ipconfig release and renew
is there a way to auto maticly do this like in a real machine?

which guest O/S has the ip auto config issue ?
an output of your ip configuration on both host and guest..

We can move them...no need to close/restart.
If it's the guest that you want to have reconfigured - just set it to use NAT. If it's the host...DHCP is your friend.
If you are posting a question to seek help in troubleshooting an issue you are having, please post the following information.
1) What exact version of VMware Workstation.
2) What is your host OS and include if it is 32-bit or 64-bit OS. If Linux include the exact Linux distribution & kernel version.
3) What is the guest OS and include if it is 32-bit or 64-bit OS. If Linux include the exact Linux distribution & kernel version.
If troubleshooting a network issue, please include the additional information.
1) Post the output from " ipconfig /all " (Windows) or " ifconfig -a " (Linux)
from both the host and guest OS
2) Post the .vmx file from the virtual machine.
3) Details of how your host is connected to the local network / Internet (Cable Modem, DSL, Router, Switch, Wired, Wireless...etc)
