I run CentOS 9 and RedHat 9 guests. After upgrading to VMWare Workstation 17 all guests start in VGA Mode (640x480). No settings on the guests were changed after the upgrade and everything was working OK in version 16.x.
On each guests I can set the resolution back to 3840x2160 and everything looks good.. but shutting down and starting the guest back up causes the screen resolution to go back to VGA mode.
Tried setting several resolutions and the same happens all the time..
The VM Settings - Display is set to auto detect.. tried to force it to one monitor.. but no joy.. Any ideas how can the guess keep the higher resolution settings?
