All files encrypted + Windows Credential Manager

I've created a new VM and chose to have all files encrypted. I used the built-in "Generate" button to get a random password and since the check box "Remember the password on this machine in Credential Manager" was already checked I didn't bother to store the password elsewhere as I thouht that was the point of having the password safely stored in a Credential Manager so why would I care to store it another credential manager or even worst/less safe place.

The problem is that now the vm file (.vmx) is corrupted and I can't add the hard drives to a new vm without this password and there doesn't seem to be a way to read/autofill the password from credentials manager either.

How should I proceed? Did I just loose all my data?

Thanks in advanced
