I can't access the Advanced Options in Player.  Is this not allowed in a non-pro version?

Hi,

That's correct.

It is one of the options you only get in VMware Workstation Pro, not in VMware Workstation Player.

The free version should be changed to show the "Advanced" option but then have all the options disabled and a message indicating that it's a Pro-only feature.

By simply removing the option from the list altogether, VMWare is confusing the user making them think there are no advanced options for a virtual machine, or that guides/articles they are following are out-of-date.

Don't hide Pro features, show them, but disallow their use. This is marketing 101 guys, come on.

Well, the big issue is that the entire UI is different between the Pro and the Player... so it isn't as simple as merely disabling the pro features' menu options.
