Add license to workstation in a headless server

Hi all

I just installed a VMWare Workstation 9 in a Red Hat LE 5 headless. With VMWare VIX i can start virtual machines whitout GUI but it doesn't work because Workstation hasn't license.

I have the license but i don't know how to register it without console.

Any advise?

Thank you in advance.

Thank you William for quick response.

This question is about server headless (without Graphic environment) . I tried to connect to it with my workstation, but its shows a reduced functionality, i can't put the key using my workstation.

I need a command to execute in a ssh session...

Best regards

I found it

/usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware-vmx-debug --new-sn XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

Thanks for sharing.

How do you start the (headless) VMWare workstation, so it can be connected to using a Workstation in graphical mode ?

(I am running VMWare workstation in a Ubuntu server , would like to run ESXi right on the metal, but it won't allow me to add a local, physical volume to a guest, and running file server via VMDK takes too much performance)
