Accessing Host PCI Card from VMWare Workstation 7 Guest

Hi,

I am currently running a Windows XP SP2 Host, which has VMware Workstation 7 configured - I have a third party PCI\SCSI card installed and was wondering if anyone has managed to connect a VM to use the hosts PCI card - PCIDirectPath? this would cure so many issues we have here with old hardware etc etc

Any idea would be gratefully appreciated

Cheers

A direct way of connecting to the hardware itself should not be possible for a merit of reasons. One being that you could interrupt the host in it's working with the hardware.

So I would be suprised if it is done already. If it is done via a driver-hook process I think we could imagion it becoming possible to interact with the PCI slots.

I believe the way the current VGA-drivers of VMware already work with the host VGA-driver like that.

I too would love to see a way we users could interact more with PCI-slots and their inserted cards as it then would be possible to use PCI-cards like TV-cards in VM's.
