6.5 segfault in F10-beta

Running Fedora 10 Beta (kernel 2.6.27-0.370.rc8 , glibc-2.8.90-12) :

  1. vmware-modconfig --console --install-all

results in :

/usr/lib/vmware/bin/launcher.sh: line 231: 11405 Segmentation fault "$binary" "$@"

dmesg reveals :

vmware-modconfi[11405]: segfault at 0 ip 000000321bc83b94 sp 00007fff532a2eb0 error 4 in libc-2.8.90.so[321bc00000+16c000]

Has anyone successfully patched 6.0.5 to run with 2.6.27 ?

Best regards,

Didier

Hello Noel,

I noticed that you helped some people here on the forum with problems related to the missing "vmware-config.pl" script.

I was wondering if you knew how to map eth1 to vmnet0, and eth2 to vmnet2? I have a system with three ethernet cards (eth0, eth1, eth2) and need to split the traffic. In the past with vmplayer 2.0 I used to run "vmware-config.pl, which allowed me to configure both cards, but I don't know how to do it without the script.

Any ideas?

Thanks Omar

I have openSUSE 11.1 (x86_64) with kernel 2.6.27.29-0.1-default

and VMware-Workstation-for-Linux-64bit-6.5.1-126130.x86_64[1]

My computer freezes reproducible after starting the vmware services.

I have tried all the workarounds in this thread.

I have seen a lot of serious warnings during the compilation

process of the vmware kernel modules!

Can anybody help me?

Has the vmware developer stuff already fixed the problem?

Details:

  1. uname -a

Linux erde001 2.6.27.29-0.1-default #1 SMP 2009-08-15 17:53:59 +0200 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
