3D Acceleration Problem VMWARE Workstation 6.5.3

If have a problem to run 3D Acceleration for a Game.

I set in the *.vmx to enable an set the 3D Acceleration.

mks.enable3d = "TRUE"

svga.vramsize ="67108864"

vmmouse.present = "False"

Also I started the DirectX 3D Acceleration test which was successful.

But when I want to run a Programm under 3D I always get an 3D Error.

One of these Programms I want to start is Settler4

Thanks for HELP

You didn't describe your host.

Can you let us know the following:

What host OS are you using?

What guest OS are you using?

What video card is in your host?

What is the exact game and error message that you're seeing?

If you're on linux:

Are you running the latest drivers for your video card in the host?

If it's an ATI or Nvidia card, are you running the closed binary or the open source drivers. We don't support the open source drivers since they're still missing lots of functionality that we require.

Host: Windows XP SP3, Nvidia 8400GS

Guest: Windows XP SP3

I want to run Settler 4 and the Error is:

Software 3D: Error initializing Graphic Interface!

Software 3D: Fehler beim Starten der Grafikausgabe!

Hardware 3D: Error initializing Graphic Interface!

Hardware 3D: Fehler beim Starten der Grafikausgabe!

I have the latest Updates from Windows and VMWARE, also from my Graphic Card, I´ll use the latest Driver from Nvidia
