Hello
While installation of vmware player i got the message:
...
Extracting VMware Installer...done.
Installing VMware VMX 15.5.2
Copying files...
Configuring...
No rc*.d style init script directories were given to the installer.
You must manually add the necessary links to ensure that the vmware
service at /etc/init.d/vmware is automatically started and stopped on
startup and shutdown.
Installing VMware Virtual Printer 1.0

If I try to start a virtual machine, I get the error:
Could not open /dev/vmmon: No such file or directory.
Please make sure that the kernel module `vmmon' is loaded.
I can go (as root) to the Suse yast2 service-manager and start the service 'vmware' manually.
Than all runs fine up to the next reboot of the host system.
But I can not set the service to the start mode ,on boot'
If I try, I get the error message (in suse yast2 service manager):
Writing the configuration failed:
Could not set 'vmware' to be started on boot.
So I think, it is obviously a problem of the method, which suse uses to start and stop services.
What can I do?
Greetings,
Holger
