vm issue opening

 

i couldnt get the vhd file to convert to vmware file vmdk file so read that i could attach the vhd file to a new vm.

when i load i get this error ?

it boots up to the window page windows 7.PNG

this is the set up which looks ok to me ?

What are you actually trying to do?

Where did the vhd file come from?

i have an old windows 7 machine on a vhd file and would like to get the file to work on vmware then take a back up of the working vmware file  

so would like to open the file in vmware workstation v16

I think the first issue can be avoided by removing the check mark from "Connect at power on" for the virtual CD/DVD ROM drive (unless you want to boot from a CD/DVD).

Regarding the second issue, can you confirm that the VM has been properly shut down (not suspended) on the old host? Can you further confirm, that the vhd was attached as a scsi device, i.e. not as an ide device on the old system.
