virtual device through vm

I want to keep my mic plugged to my host but i want to use it in my vm is there a way for me to do this without software in the vm. I saw something using audio breakaway pipeline witch i have if there is a way using that it would be ideal.  Added to this how could i send xsplit vcam or Nvidia broadcast through. 

 

windows 10 20H2

linux mint cinnamon 20.1 

vmwareworkstation 16 player (non-commercial)

As far as I know the VM uses the host's microphone. Have you tried testing the microphone on your VM?
