I've installed win98se under vmware workstation 5.5 and I'm getting some old games to work. One of them, Total Mayhem, has caused me no end of trouble trying to get it working in other ways. The problem is it uses scitech's univbe drivers for it's video, unfortunately univbe won't work with the svga support provided with vmware tools. It can't identify the chipset. There is an option to manually override the detection but to do that I need to know the following information:
Manufacturer, Chipset, RAM DAC, Clock chip, Video memory.
If someone knows if there are settings for these that will work with the vmware tools driver, or if there's another way to make this work, I'd appreciate hearing about it.
