ubuntu host, winXP guset, can't access link files in shared folder.

I installed XP guest on ubuntu, adding a shared folder and  mapping it as a network driver in XP.

Then it turned out that I can't access any soft link files of that folder in XP, it says like 'access deny'.

And as I can see, all these link files show size of 1KB in XP no matter what their real sizes are.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Hi, welcome to the communities,

this is a known issue. Your XP shows the links as files.

You can edit the VM-configuration to make it follow the links. It's described in this kb-article:
