host OS is windows XP x64, Guest is windows XP x32.
Host OS is a dual screen system. Each is 1680x1050. Guest OS is configured to have a display of the same size. That works fine except that during guest startup, it starts at some significantly smaller resolution (guessing 800x600). That much smaller screen size causes windows to move all of the desktop icons, which I have carefully placed where I want them, into a large smush (techincal term) in the upper left corner of the screen.
So 2 questions...
Is there a way to tell VMware Player (V3.1.4) to start the guest at some specific resolution?
Is there a way to tell windows to *leave my icons where I put them*
