remove "VMnetbridge" registry key

Running in Windows Vista Home Basic.

I am trying to manually uninstall traces of a former VMware installation. (the reason for this is to make a fresh install of the VMware Player).

A source on the internet advised me to remove some registry keys (see : http://www.techhead.co.uk/how-to-manually-remove-vmware-tools)

I believe i need to remove the following registry key : HKLM/Software/Vmware,Inc./VMnetLibSaved/VmnetBridge.  I am logged in as the Administrator.   However, when trying this, i get the error message : "cannot open VmnetBridge.  reason : access denied".

What can be done to ultimately be able to make a new installation of the VMware Player?

Thanks.
